Chelsea 3-1 Fulham – 2013/14 Premier League Season

The last Chelsea vs Fulham meeting ended in a loss for Fulham as well as an inevitable relegation after a disappointing season. Remaining at the bottom of the table, Fulham were able to hold on in the first half with a goalless 45 minutes from both sides.

It was not until the second half where Chelsea gained full superiority over the proceedings thanks to a hat trick from André Schürrle. Fulham found themselves far from safe in the Premier League against a side on a twelve game winning streak. With nothing left to lose, Fulham made sure Chelsea did not get away unscathed as Johnny Heitinga returned a goal not long after Chelsea’s very own third and final strike courtesy of Schürrle.

Jose Mourinho could be proud of his side in a final score of 3-1 during a season which led them comfortably into third for the year and into the Round of 16 for the Champions League.

Chelsea 5-3 Fulham – 1983/84 Division Two Season

It was a momentous season remembered by many Chelsea fans which earned them a well-deserved promotion. It was a season sprawled with wins at Stamford Bridge and away and this game against Fulham did not disappoint. That is not to say Fulham did not put up a fight in this high-scoring game.

The first half ended with a 2-2 stalemate – a score that would drastically change in the last 45 minutes. Fulham held their own thanks to the efforts of striker Gordan Davis delivering two against Chelsea’s Kerry Dixon and Joey Jones one a piece.

The second half was a cacophony of excitement with yet another goal from Dixon but Fulham’s Davis dazzled with a hat trick performance. Unfortunately, those three strikes were not enough for Fulham against a side that reigned supreme over the 1983/84 Division Two Season.

Chelsea 0-1 Fulham – 2005/06 Premier League Season

Fulham came to an unexpected win during the 2005/06 season against Premier League leaders Chelsea. A goal in the first half by Luis Boa Morte shook the Blues to the point where they did not recover. It was not until the last ten minutes where Fulham players and fans really had to struggle.

The Blues were not without chances as John Terry sent a header towards Fulham keeper Mark Crossley only to be saved in show of hopeful resilience. Chelsea’s efforts were clearly not enough with Phillippe Christanval replacing Steed Malbranque for Fulham to maintain their shaky lead.

The Chelsea vs Fulham match on 1st December 2018 will give the Blues another chance to continue their command of the 2018/19 season by defeating underdogs Fulham. Chelsea must ensure they continue their consistent performance and remain unfazed by any team no matter their position in the standings. This is a game that could be an unexpected highlight of the whole season.
